Barbro Lindgren 1937年3月18日

北歐的兒童文學，由丹麥的安徒生童話、芬蘭 Tove Jansson 的 Moomin、瑞典 Astrid Lindgren 林格倫的 Pippy Longstocking 長襪皮皮 ... 其最大的共同點是藏有北國魔幻卻又輕扣於現世，以兒童為本。Oxford Encyclopaedia of Children’s Literature 的資深編輯，同時有曾任林格蘭兒童文學獎評審的 Maria Nikolajeva 「Scandinavian books are not rooted in the world of fantasy, like other children’s stories. It’s often grounded in a slightly skewed reality in which the childlike characters exhibit ‘magical’ talents ... the Scandinavian culture of respect for the child, the history of the region, and those long winters, have had a profound effect on the character of its literature.」

瑞典詩人和作家 Barbro Lindgren 曾在 1973年得到過林格蘭兒童文學獎，2012年又獲得提名。她童書用字簡潔，但聲韻活潑，除了小孩大人都喜歡，也是外國人學習瑞典文的好材料。

會畫圖的詩人畫出來的畫別有一番趣味，多產的 Douglas Florian 更是其中的佼佼者。可以寧靜深遽的寫情寫景；也能像特技演員般將英文字拋轉在空中，使人目不暇給，驚聲叫好。他那一系列《Insectlopedia》的書，更需要細密的觀察各種昆蟲、動物的習性和樣貌，才得以有如此精闢的短詩。
