《King Aroo》在美國報紙從1950年起連載了15年，讓這位漫畫家在美國幾乎是家喻戶曉。他的40多本繪本也都有著漫畫的幽默內涵和筆觸線條，都極好看，可惜一般書店也不易買到。
茉莉媽的心頭好之一《The Caterpillar and the Polliwog》天真的蝌蚪等著和毛毛蟲一起蛻變的經過，筆觸質樸，對白可愛，有一句它說：「Fish goes to school, he knows everything！」
